Armilayda has been a member and an officer of CSF since her freshman year right here at Channel Island High School. Adviser Ms Romines encouraged her to run for co-vice-president of CSF this year, a job that includes acting as liaison with the student government, because she is also ASB President. Ms Romines explains, "She has the diplomacy of a polished CEO, skills that will serve her very well in the future." Armilayda is a Navy Brat with a father who served long tours of duty at sea. As a result, she accepted responsibilities and learned a non-traditional set of home-repair skills. Armilayda explains that "experiences like these have allowed me to prove to myself that I could do anything I set my mind to." Next year, she will be meeting the challenges of a business major at either UCLA or Cal.
