Justin Cho, 2012 Seymour Award Finalist
Justin comes to us from Gilroy HS in Gilroy where he is his CSF chapters' president. He is involved in street clean ups, the spring Science Alive, a senior center, feeding the homeless and tutoring others. He is also the president of the French and Interact Clubs. Justin is the sports editor of his schools newspaper and he is the boys Tennis Team Captain. He has been recognized on the Principal's Honor Roll all 4 years, most improved athlete, a Rotary Leadership Award and is an AP Scholar.
Mr. Hungerford, Justin's CSF advisor, shared that since his move from "Clovis West HS, that his academic record has been amazing. Justin is also very active in his community and his church." Ms. Teraji, Justin's group leader at Gilroy United Methodist Church, shares that "he stands out among other young people his age." Ms. Teraji also shares a story about Justin and Felix. Felix has a developmental disability and Justin willingly paired up with Felix for the Amazing Race so that Felix would have fun-not caring about the competition. Justin shared in his personal statement that since he has moved 5 times that he had to learn to adapt to new environments or have a solitary life. These different experiences proved that nothing can compete with being you. Justin wants to study Chemistry at his #1 school of UCLA.
