CSF Student Bio - Salvador Brito

Salvador Brito, 2012 Seymour Award Finalist

As the CSF President for the past two years, and treasurer for the year prior, Salvador has been busy with Thanksgiving food drives, Creating Christmas Cards and Caroling as well as Beach Clean-up days and writing Army Valentine's Day Cards. He has also assisted his local chapter in hosting a regional conference like this one several years ago. Outside of CSF Salvador has served as the Key Club Vice President, mentored with the Boys and Girls Club. Served as the Academic Decathlon President, was the Publicist for MESA, the Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement club and is currently the CEO of the Economics and Entrepreneurship club.

Salvador has been ranked number 1 during all four years of high school. He has earned the title of Top Geometry Honors Student , the Top Algebra 2 Honors Student and placed 2nd on the Individual Math Competition for the Trigonometry Level in MESA. Besides excelling in math, he has also earned an AP exam score of 5 on AP Spanish Lit, and exam scores of 4 in AP English Language, AP US History and AP Chemistry. He is currently a candidate for Valedictorian with an overall GPA of 4.71.

Celene Gutierrez, Math teacher and CSF Advisor writes that she has never known a student more motivated and intelligent than Salvador. There is nothing that is stopping this young man from achieving his dreams, no matter what obstacle comes his way. When writing about Salvador's work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura, Kimberlee Ramirez, supervisor for the site-based mentoring program, says, He has a wonderful personality and has shown characteristics of being self-driven and responsible. This drive has enabled Salvador to state, I will not be stopped on reaching this goal of mine. I will not be defeated. He hopes to pursue a Biology major at UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine or Cal Lutheran.
