Sarah Miller, 2012 Seymour Award Finalist

Academically, Sarah's accomplishments are amazing. She has been on the Principal's Honor Roll all four years of high school, in addition to becoming a Golden State Seal Merit Diploma recipient, a National Honor Society Member, a National Merit Commended Scholar, and finally an AP Scholar with Distinction. In Speech, Sarah has been awarded by Lions Club as a Southern Regional Finalist twice and as a finalist at the club level once. In school clubs, Sarah has held offices of Co-President and Secretary for both The National English Honor Society, and the Spanish Honor Society, served as Co-President of the Jewish Student Union and Vice President for the National Honor Society. She has also been elected as the Secretary General of the Model United Nations Club.

Aileen Willoughby, teacher-librarian and CSF Adviser at Palos Verdes High School writes of Sarah, I saw that she was a very organized and hard-working member whose efforts not only contributed to a successful local regional conference held at our school, but to a very active and cohesive CSF Student Board. Charles D. Meyer, Co Director of the FAME Legal Clinic explains that Sarah's volunteering has shown that She is a quick study and manifests such a level of maturity that everyone is surprised to learn she is still in high school.

Sarah explains that the 9th grader, that entered high school with timidity, is leaving with a newfound ferocity for life. This ferocity is leading her to Northwestern University where she will major in psychology.
