From Downeyville Junior/Senior High School in Sierra City, CSF Chapter 1054, we welcome Sierra. Lynn Fillo, Sierra's advisor, calls her a human sponge with an endless thirst for knowledge and the initiative to acquire it. "She sets the bar high for herself," Lynn says, "and has the tenacity to reach her goals."
A member of the Board of the Sierra County Arts Council, Caroline Dunlap Eshleman recognizes Sierra as a student member of the Board and praises her for her high level of intelligence, perception, and strong work ethic. She knows the Board will miss Sierra tremendously when she leaves in the fall to attend the University of California at Davis.
Although Sierra is undecided about a major, she is leaning toward possibly becoming a high school English teacher.
