Sruthi Ramaswami, 2012 Seymour Award Finalist
Sruthi comes to us from Archbishop Mitty High school in Los Altos where she is her chapter's activities chair. She is involved in Teen's for Teens, Sunnyvale Community Services, tutoring and the Don Bosco Center for street Children in India. She has been a Girls Lead now leader, president of Mitty Advocate Project, worked with Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and is the editor of "The Monarch". Sruthi has a special talent which is being a vocalist of South Indian Classical (carnatic) music. She has been recognized as an AP Scholar, National Merit Scholar and a varsity tennis player.
Mrs. Falcone, her CSF advisor, says that "Sruthi is a mature, articulate, compassionate and determined young lady. Mrs. Falcone also has "no doubt that she will her that one day her successful campaign leads to a political office." Mr. Accors, her Mitty Advocate Project teacher defines Sruthi, as the rare young woman is power. Very simply she is on a mission. Her sense of energy isn't rooted in self promotion or self interest, but in a pure sense of goodness to help improve the quality of life for the less fortunate. Sruthi shared in her personal statement that "voicing our opinions to policy makers allows us to impact legislation that benefits our community. Continuing that mission, she plans to go into environmental policies/economics at her #1 choice college of Stanford.
